Audrey A. Suchy

Audrey Ann Suchy, 93, of Westland, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025.

Born on November 13, 1931, to Edward and Valerie Weinburger, Audrey lived a life filled with love, resilience, and joy. She found her soulmate early on—her high school sweetheart, Ronald James Suchy. Their love story was a modern-day Romeo and Juliet: Audrey came from a Jewish family and Ronald from a Catholic one, and despite their families’ disapproval, their bond was unbreakable. They eloped to Indiana and were married on October 30, 1950. Together, they spent 49 beautiful years as best friends, travel companions, and unwavering partners—until Ronald’s passing in 1999.

Audrey and Ronald raised two wonderful sons, Michael and Christopher, with deep devotion and love. Audrey had initially worked as a secretary for Buroughs Corporation, but with the birth of their first son, Michael, she shifted her focus to raising her children and keeping the home - a role she embraced wholeheartedly and with great pride.

Audrey and Ronald shared a love for adventure. They traveled the world together-visiting Europe, New Zealand, Spain, and Hawaii, among others. One of their most memorable adventures came while rafting through the Canadian Rockies with none other than the country music band Alabama-though, true to their taste, they much preferred Frank Sinatra.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Barbara) Suchy; daughter-in-law, Catherine Suchy; granddaughters, Jennifer (Eugene) Scime and Cricket (Christopher) Garrard; great-grandchildren, Reagan Scime, Rowan Scime, and Charlotte Garrard; sisters-in-law, Juanita Suchy and Janice Suchy; brother-in-law, Eugene Suchy; and many beloved nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Suchy; her parents, Edward and Valerie Weinburger and her son, Christopher Suchy.

The family invites all who knew and loved Audrey to join them in celebrating her life on Saturday, November 8, 2025. A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Cremation Society of Michigan, 31551 Ford Avenue, Garden City, MI 48135. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM.

Audrey will eventually be inurned with her cherished husband, Ronald, at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West in Westland, Michigan—reunited in eternal love.
