Barbara K. O’Mara passed away on June 26, 2025. surrounded by her family.

She led a remarkable life growing up during the Great Depression and World War II. As a child, she developed a love for book reading, a love that she carried throughout her life. She also had a love for traveling. This love allowed her to visit many places in the United States as well as Eastern Canada, England, Scottland, her father’s homeland, and Northern Ireland, her mother’s homeland. She had many disappointments, and many successes. She loved her family and extended family, as well as her many, many friends. She loved music, especially when her son’s played in their School Bands, and was known as a great band mom.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Margret Scott and John Stewart Kilgour, three husbands, Norman Slocum, John Simpson, and finally Michael O’Mara, and her sister Kathleen Kilgour. She is Survived by her children Steven Slocum, Dennis (Brenda) Slocum, four Grandchildren Robert (Rachel), Adam, Christopher (Sara) and Ryan (Miranda), and 6 Great Grandchildren Harlan, Bristol, Emely, Mae, Charlie and Caroline.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Mt. Clemons.
