Beverly Wingo Wallace, 85, of McAllen, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025, in Novi, Michigan. She was born in Asheville, North Carolina on November 24, 1939, to the late John and Geneva (Pressley) Wingo.
Beverly spent her childhood in Asheville, North Carolina, before moving to Orlando, Florida, where she attended Edgewater Highschool. She enjoyed being involved in the Choral Society until her graduation in 1957. After graduation, she worked for Southern Bell and Blue Cross before moving to Fernandina Beach, Florida. While living in Fernandina she was involved in the startup of Cheese N Things Deli at The Plantation of Amelia Island. She loved going to the beach as often as possible to enjoy the sun, sand, and relaxation. She later moved to McAllen, Texas, where she worked for Kent Beal Buick for several years and volunteered at the local hospital where she made unforgettable friendships that lasted her entire life and beyond.
Later in life, Beverly would spend summers in New Hudson, Michigan and the remainder of the year in South Texas.
Beverly was a beautiful person inside and out and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She will never be forgotten, always loved.
Beverly is survived by her daughter Lori H Burling and her husband Donald J Burling Jr; granddaughter, Jade M (Cody) Burling; as well as her dear friends Texas, Michigan & Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval Wayne “Tex” Wallace; mother, Geneva B Pressley Wingo; father, John Hugh Wingo; infant daughter, Chrissa R Harkey; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Nicole Burling.
