Brad Bedell, born on May 4, 1957, to William and Marilynn Bedell, lived a life defined by love, resilience, and a sense of humor that could light up any room—often at exactly the moment it was needed most.
Brad carried many titles in his life, and he wore each one well: devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, caring brother, fun-loving brother-in-law, loyal friend, trusted confidant, and respected business owner. But if you asked Brad, he would likely say his most important role was keeping everyone around him smiling—and he took that job very seriously.
One of his favorite titles was husband to his beloved wife Norma. Together for 26 years and married for 12, they built a life grounded in love, partnership, and a deep understanding that only grows stronger with time.
Brad was a proud father to Austin (Holly), Evan (Kayleigh), and Rachel (Kyle), and a wonderful stepfather to Nikki (Ryan) and Jessie (Shawn). His greatest joy, however, came from being “Papa” to his ten grandchildren: Nevaeh, Faith, Harris, Lewis, Julian, Jack, Leo, Arlo, Jude, and Lowe. They were his pride and joy, and he made sure they knew it—through laughter, adventure, and a little playful mischief.
Brad will also be dearly missed by his siblings, Brian, Barry, and Beth (Dave), with whom he shared a happy and adventurous childhood.
Brad had a wicked sense of humor that stayed with him through every chapter of his life. He could make people laugh in the middle of the hardest days, always with perfect timing and just the right amount of edge. Even during his long and difficult cancer journey, Brad never lost that spark. He faced each hurdle with strength, optimism, and—true to form—a joke or two along the way.
He had a remarkable way of making people feel comfortable, lifting spirits without even trying, and reminding everyone not to take life too seriously—even when life was at its most serious.
Brad will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him. While there is an undeniable emptiness in his absence, there is also a lasting echo of laughter he leaves behind—a reminder of the joy he brought into so many lives and the love that will carry on in those who knew him.
