Obituary of Catherine Pollock Johnstone

November 14,1927 - October 26,2017, former Professor of Literature at Madonna University. Preceded in death by her husband, Daniel. Survived by her brother James (Jean) Thomson. Loving Mother of Matthew (Cyndi), Mary (Dan McClure), Barbara (Rick DeTroyer), John (Vicky), Anne (Donald Lietke) and Sarah (Ed) Gren. Beloved Grandma to Alex (Brandon) Linton, Krzysztof Pastuszka, Ayla DeTroyer (Norman LeFlore), Olivia DeTroyer (Dakota Cooley), Sophie DeTroyer, Danny Lietke, Maya Gren, David Lietke, Ava Gren. Dearest aunt to Jessie, Eva, Roy and Kelly. She cherished her colleagues and students, and teaching brought her great joy. There will be a private family celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Catherine's name to Habitat For Humanity Detroit (habitatdetroit.org)
