Obituary of Colleen A. Thor

Colleen Thor, age 61, passed into eternal life on April 29, 2017, at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital surrounded by her family, following her battle with cancer. Colleen was born September 29, 1955, in Bad Axe, MI. Beloved wife of Charles Thor. Loving mother of Sharla (Craig) Edmondson, James Musbach, Kevin Thor, and Jenanne (Bryan) Voss. Dear grandmother of Payton Lott, Jaydin Musbach, Reece Voss, Cleone Voss, Marquis Edmondson, Craig Edmondson II, Deyea Miller, Falysha Edmondson, and ReShay Edmondson; and great grandmother of Craig Edmondson III. Sister of Kathy Arntz, Karen (Jerry) Paul and Carla Johnson. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Carl H. Sternberg and Joyce Merrick of Bad Axe Michigan; and her brother Robert Keillor.

The world has lost a beautiful soul. Colleen was generous, joyful and boy did she know how to throw a good party. She loved to laugh and she was a shark when it came to playing cards. She loved to cook, was a talented artist and good at anything concerned with needle and thread. Family was everything to her and she considered everyone family. She will be so sorely missed and it will take a long time for our hearts to heal. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 2pm (gathering beginning at 1pm) at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Wesley Ave in Jackson, MI. A luncheon will follow at St. James Lutheran Church on South Jackson Rd. in Jackson, MI. For Colleen, family was everything and everyone she met was family.
