Obituary of Cora May Tighe

TIGHE, Cora M. (nee Lickman) passed away peacefully on December 3, 2016 at the age of 93. She was born in Ceylon, Saskatchewan on May 3, 1923, the second of six children of Violet and Melvin Lickman. During WWII Mrs. Tighe proudly joined the ranks of "Rosie the Riveter" at the Browning Machine Gun Factory in Windsor, Ont. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Robert E. Tighe. Survivors include her six children: Karen (Thomas Bock); Robert (William Korte); Linda (Michael Robinson); Colleen; Elizabeth (Rob Watt); and Martin (Jennifer Moore). Also surviving are four grandchildren: Sarah (Dr. Rajesh) Dandamudi; Madelon Robinson; Jessica and Daniel Watt; and one great-grandchild, Samson Dandamudi. At her request, cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Capuchin Monastery-St. Bonaventure Chapel, 1740 Mt. Elliott, Detroit, MI on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 11:00 a.m. The family will be present to receive visitors from ten o'clock until the time of mass. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Solanus Casey Center, 1780 Mt. Elliott, Detroit, MI 48207.
