Darlene Herman
1950-2025
Darlene Frances Herman age 75 of Highland passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on December 14th, 2025.
She was born in Hamtramck on June 12th, 1950, to Kermit and Mabel (Knyzewski) Osantowski
She is survived by her husband of 49 years of marriage, Dave; her sister Judy (Tom) Dahlmann; two children, David (Tracy) Herman and Stacie (Jay) Davenport; four grandchildren; Matthew, Mckenna, Callie and Bryson.
Darlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a librarian for Waterford Township Library, Four Towns Elementary and Sandburg Elementary. She owned a bookstore with her sister Judy called “J & D’s Novel Ideas” From there she worked at the Milford Times and for the South Lyon Harold where she retired and began traveling with her husband Dave in their 5th Wheel.
Darlene had a love for fishing, reading and camping outdoors. Most importantly she loved watching her grandchildren perform in school activities and sports. It brought her much joy. Darlene also had a love for all animals from donating to different charities to watching many episodes of Dr. Pohl and Dr. Jeff. She loved cooking, baking and going to garage sales and craft shows when she could. She loved spending time with her family.
There will be a Celebration of Life in the late Spring or early Summer to celebrate Darlene Herman. Details will come at a later time. Enlue of flowers, please hold off until her Celebration Of Life to send flowers.
