Darlene Jean Lopez, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted teacher of dance, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, at the age of 80.

Darlene was a woman who brought passion, grace, and joy to the lives of all who knew her. She was a profound teacher of dance, sharing not only her knowledge and talent, but also her love of movement, music, discipline, and self-expression. Dance was more than a profession to Darlene—it was a part of who she was and a gift she generously shared with others.

She had a deep appreciation for music, especially Jazz, Motown, and Classical Rock, and she enjoyed staying active through fitness. Her vibrant spirit, strength, and love of life will remain a lasting inspiration to her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Darlene was the loving mother of Sean (Cynthia), Jeffery (Megan Femyer), and Scott (Brian Schutz).

She was a cherished grandmother to Brittney, Brianna, Jessica, Lorenzo, Alex (Melissa), and Isabella, and a proud great-grandmother to Adyson, Harper, Broklynn, and Baby Yuna.

Darlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene “Gino” Lopez. Their love and the memories they created together remain an important part of the family she leaves behind.

Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, students, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known her. She will be remembered for her strength, her passion for dance and music, her dedication to fitness, and, most of all, the love she gave so freely to her family.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever dancing in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, to be determined by the family.
