Obituary of Dolores Bernice Simmons

Dolores Bernice Simmons, born April 10, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to Marion and Paul Thurston. Died peacefully in her sleep on November 24, 2017. Married her beloved husband Eugene (Gene) who predeceased her, on January 22, 1949. Together for 67 years, they raised 3 children, in Trenton Michigan, Ruth (Jimmy) Doak, David (Maryann), and Paul (Lori). Dolores adored her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Michelle), Michelle (Adam) Shaw, Michael Campbell, Michelle Campbell, Christopher (Elizabeth), Mark, Matt (Taniella) and Eric. She also had 8 great grandchildren. Dolores is also survived by her sister Betty Ward, and her brother-in-law George Simmons. There will be a Memorial Service at Henry Ford Village Chapel on Friday December 1st at 12 pm. Her ashes will be buried with Gene's at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Donations may be made in her honor to Salvation Army, or Christ Episcopal Church Dearborn.
