Francis Ernest Eagle, age 94, of Dearborn, passed away March 4, 2017, at Henry Ford Village. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy for 69 cherished years. Loving father of Ahlene (John) and Francine (Rick). Dearest grandfather to John, Jason, C. Brianne, and Caitlin, and proud great-grandfather to John, Kendra, Skylar, and Lilianna. Son of May and Ernest Eagle of Melvindale, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clayton and Clarence. Francis graduated from Melvindale High School in 1940 and earned a bachelor of Commercial Science degree from The Business Institute. He served with the Army's Americal Division for three years in the Pacific during WWII, earning two Bronze Star Medals for Valor and the Purple Heart. He served with the Melvindale Fire Department for 31 years, retiring as Captain in 1980. Cremation has taken place, with a final resting place, with Dorothy, in Michigan Memorial Park.
