Obituary of Harland Derwood Harris III

Harland Harris, age 80, died suddenly at his home in Holly on August 27, 2016. Harley was the proud father of Cindy (Matthew) Gantick, Jeff Harris and David (Stacey) Harris, and the proudest Grandpa of Jasper and Aleck Gantick, Kendra and Shelby Harris, and Zachary and Charlie Harris. He is also survived by his wife, Carol Elliott-Harris, and siblings Clark (Marilyn) Harris, Joan Huntley and Peter (Gayle) Harris, and numerous nieces and nephews. Harley worked as an accountant at Harvey Accounting Services for over 50 years serving many small business owners in the Metro Detroit area. There will be services at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly at 1:00PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, followed by a luncheon reception at the Holly Hotel to celebrate Harley's life. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a contribution to the charity of their choice.
