HeleneJeanSchmidtwasbornonJanuary22,1926inDetroit,Michiganthethirdofwhatwould befourdaughtersofEdwardRaymondSchmidtandHelenEdnaDyarSchmidt.Sheissurvived byonesister,MaryKrumLanig,andpredeceasedbytwosisters,RitaHerpelandJoanBrand. SheattendedGesuCatholicGradeSchoolandImmaculataAllGirlsCatholicHighSchool,bothin Detroit.ShemarriedLawrenceJ.MahoneyJr.onAugust1,1953.Heleneissurvivedbythree livingchildrenandtheirspouses‐ColleenSchwarz(PerBurchardt),TerrenceMahoney(Mary Lou)andMaureenScapini(Michael).Additionally,shewasaproudgrandmothertoeight,and great‐grandmothertoeightandmanygrandpuppies.

Helenewaswell‐lovedforhersunnysmileandherinterestinothers,makingheragoodfriend ofmany.ShelivedinSt.ClairShores,Mio,MacombTownshipandmostrecently,atWellbridge ofRomeoinRomeo,Michigan.Sheenjoyedanactiveretirementwithherhusband,Larry,and alwayslookedforwardtogatheringsofthefamilyandspecialfriends,especiallyat Thanksgiving.Herwarmpersonality,loveoffamily,strongfaith,supportofothers,andspunk willbemissed.Shehaslefthermarkonmanyhearts.
