Obituary of Herbert Orlo Steiger

Herbert O. Steiger, age 87, of Grosse Pointe Woods, died peacefully on January 27, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy A. (Chapman) for 63 years. Dearest father of Janet A. (Jim) Troutman and Richard B. (the late Regina) Steiger. Loving grandfather of Noelle and Mikayla. He was a graduate from Wayne State University with a B.A. and Law L.L.B. degree. Herb was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard for 24 years, retiring as a commander. He owned and ran the Killebrew Steiger Insurance Agency for 27 years. His Life will be celebrated on February 8, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 20475 Sunningdale Park Grosse Pointe Woods. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology, 15415 E. Jefferson Grosse Pointe Park, MI 48230.
