James H. Wagner

James H. Wagner, 84 of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, passed away on October 5, 2025. He was born on December 1, 1940, to the late Carl and Verna (Hawks) Wagner in Detroit, Michigan.

James was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandparent who exemplified what it meant to cherish and care for family. His kindness and steadfast presence enriched the lives of all who knew him. A proud supporter of the Detroit Lions and Tigers, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether feeding the squirrels outside his home or preparing a perfectly cooked steak to share with loved ones. His warmth, humor, and quiet generosity will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Joyce Wagner; children, Jill (Greg) Hall and Jennifer (Carl) Bowen; grandchildren, Catherine, Kendall, Kristen, Cheyenne, and Jacob; niece, Patricia; and nephews, Wayne and Mike. Preceding him in death were his parents, Carl and Verna Wagner; and his siblings, Wallace and Jean.

A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Wyandotte, 72 Oak Street, Wyandotte, MI 48192, on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 2:00pm with a luncheon to follow.
