Obituary of Joan E. Maass

Joan Ellen (nee Carusi) Maass of Howell, age 63, passed away on May 28, 2012 with her family surrounding her at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor following a lengthy battle with Lupus.

She was born November 10, 1949 to Bruno and Rosemary (nee O'Connor) Carusi. On November 17, 1971, she was married to Fritz Maass and resided in Livingston County all of her adult life.

Joan had 2 children, Raymond and Jeannie. Joan was the Office Manager at Poured Brick Walls and filed many tax returns with clients in Livingston County, her nature was kind and humble.

She loved children and dabbled in sewing, arts & crafts and gardening. Joan felt (every) meal needed a dessert.

Preceding her in death was her daughter Jeannie Maass (January 2, 1980), parents; Bruno Carusi and Rosemary (nee O'Connor) Carusi, father-in-law; Charles Maass, sisters-in-law; Doris Harden and Karen Carusi.

Surviving are Joan's husband; Fritz Maass of Howell, Michigan, son; Raymond Maass of Hamburg, Michigan, sisters; Pam Ochs of Hamburg, Michigan, Mary Carusi of Brighton, Michigan, brothers; Bob (Lyn) Carusi of Fowlerville, Michigan, Bruno (Linda) Carusi of Fowlerville, Michigan, Paul Carusi of Brighton, Michigan, mother-in-law; Dorothy Maass of Florida, brother-in-law; Karl Maass of Florida, sisters-in-law; Deanna (George) Miller of Oklahoma, Hilda (Dan) Smith of Stockbridge, Michigan, 6 nephews and 3 Nieces.

Cremation has taken place. Services are pending. Memorial contrubutions can be made at Looney Bakery, Howell, Michigan.
