John Joseph Lomas

John Joseph Lomas, 68, of Livonia, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, after a brave and graceful battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wonderful children: Brendan Maxwell Lomas, Connor Dalton Lomas, and Avery Claire Louise Lomas. Affectionately known as "Juancy" by his family, John was cherished by his four brothers, eight sisters, nine in-laws, ("outlaws") and 21 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosendo and Betty (Elizabeth Healy) Lomas.

John earned his degree from Central Michigan University and pursued careers in restaurant management and retail sales. He was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan and played hockey from middle school onward. He was a dedicated cyclist and rode miles to work and back year around. John was highly creative and expressed it through his art, cooking, home renovation projects, landscaping, and vegetable gardening. His extraordinary gift was creating a large circle of steadfast friends throughout his life.

John will be deeply and forever missed. May his memory bring comfort and inspiration to everyone who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 3 at 5 p.m. at Idyl Wyld Golf Course in Livonia for John's family and friends.

Donations may be made in John's name to the Karmanos Cancer Institute or the Heart2Heart Hospice Foundation.
