Obituary of John William Longridge

John William Longridge (Jack), age 69 passed away at his home approximately 10pm on August 8, 2014 after a four month illness. He resided in Canton MI for 43 years. He was born on Oct 10, 1944 to Alexander and Doris Longridge. He graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn in 1962. He earned an Associates degree from Madonna college in 1974. Jack entered the US Air Force in 1963 and served five years active duty in the Vietnam War. He worked for Ford Motor Company as an engineer for 17 years. Also during this time he served his community by volunteering as a firefighter in Canton for 5 years and a police officer for 7 years. Jack worked as a Sales Manager at Sunshine Honda in Plymouth. He loved spending time with family, watching sports on TV, a good meal and telling stories of the good ole days. He loved singing songs from the classic musicals. Beloved husband of 49 years of Donna. Loving father of John (Andrea) and Bob. Cherished grandfather of Chip, Madison, Grace, Jessica and Jenna. Dear brother Alexander Jr, Richard and Jay. Dear Uncle to 5 nieces and 2 nephews. He was a social man with many friends and neighbors. He will be sadly missed by many people. A memorial service will be held at St. John Newman Catholic Church 44800 Warren Rd Canton MI 48187 at 10:30 with Service at 11AM on Thursday Aug 14, 2014 followed by luncheon.
