Obituary of Louis W. "Bud" Charvat

Louis W. "Bud" Charvat, January 12, age 90. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Jane. Kind and gentle father of Linda Charvat, Sally LaRowe (Edward), Jay and David (Rita). Loving grandfather of Amy, Martha, Greg, Lindsay and Chelsea. And great-grandfather of Annabella and Jasmine.

Bud was a florist for over 65 years, working in the family business started by his grandfather. He worked daily until his hospitalization several months ago. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII.Later he completed his BS in Horticulture at MAC (Michigan Sate). An avid boater, he cruised all the Great Lakes with his wife and family. He was also an enthusiastic Tiger fan, rarely missing a game.

We will have a Celebration of Bud's life on Saturday February 22 at 11am at Grosse Pointe Congregational Church; 240 Chalfonte; Grosse Pointe Farms. Please bring stories to share with friends and family. Inurnment will follow later in the spring. Donations may be made to Grosse Pointe Congregational Church. If you choose not to make a donation, then send flowers from your local florist.
