Marie L. Bunselmeier June 2, 1921 April 8, 2016 Marie Bunselmeier passed away peacefully on April 8, 2016, in St. Clair Shores, Mich. She was 94. Marie was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Ernest and Norma Del Barba. She was raised as a Roman Catholic and graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in 1940. Marie married Robert W. Bunselmeier on July 16, 1941. They lived in Grosse Pointe and later in Harper Woods, Mich., for more than 30 years, where they raised their three children, Mary, Robert Jr. ("Rob," deceased) , and Jim. Marie and Bob retired to Knob Lick, Mo. Marie traveled with her husband throughout the United States, attending reunions of his World War II shipmates. Her two favorite trips were visiting both her sons in California one summer and traveling, at 87, to Italy with her daughter. Marie is survived by her daughter, Mary Mumbrue of Evanston, Ill.; her son, Jim Bunselmeier, of Chino, Cal.; and her brother, Eugene Del Barba, of Oldsmar, Fla., along with many nieces and nephews.
