Mary Ellen Lackner passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 8, 2017 at the Sanctuary at the Park in Muskegon, MI. She was 99 years old on October 3, 2017.
A memorial service will be held on October 21 in North Branch, the city of her birth . Mary Ellen was the daughter of Nellie Brown and Herbert Schell. She had one sister, Carol, who passed away in 1932.
Mary Ellen was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Eastern Star and the United Methodist Church in North Branch.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, John Matthew Lackner and her first son, John Allen Lackner. Mary Ellen and John were married for 62 years and are survived by their daughter Carol and husband Don Frey; son Mark Lackner and wife Sylvia and son William Lackner and wife Jackie. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Mark John, Adam, Liz, Kirsten, Leslie, Jason, Bree and Bryan and 13 great grandchildren.
