Pamela Brueggeman, age 68, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, in Garden City, Michigan. She was born on July 1, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois.
Pamela lived a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and creating lasting memories. Though she was born in Chicago, she and her siblings were raised on Minock Street on the west side of Detroit, where she formed lifelong friendships that she treasured and maintained throughout her life. From an early age, Pamela was fiercely independent, resilient, and devoted to those she loved. She loved her family immensely, and they remained the center of her world throughout her life.
Pamela attended Redford High School in Detroit, where she met her high school sweetheart. The two were married at Holy Cross Lutheran Church before beginning their married life in Maryland while her husband served in the United States Marine Corps. After the birth of their daughter, Amy, the family returned to Detroit. Two years later, Pamela's marriage ended in divorce. She never remarried, choosing instead to devote herself to raising her daughter as a single mother. With remarkable determination and unwavering strength, she worked two jobs to provide for her family, demonstrating every day the resilience, sacrifice, and unconditional love that defined her life.
Pamela dedicated more than 15 years of service to Realtron Publishing Company, where she truly loved her work and cherished the friendships she built with her coworkers. Her strong work ethic, warm personality, and caring heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Raised in the Catholic faith, Pamela received her First Holy Communion as a child. Later in life, she reaffirmed her faith by being baptized and becoming a devoted member of Victory Christian Church in Hamtramck, Michigan. She was a faithful woman who loved the Lord and lived her life with compassion, strength, and unwavering faith.
Known by those who loved her as funny, beautiful, endlessly talkative, deeply caring, an incredibly hard worker, and one of the strongest women they had ever known, Pamela had a way of making everyone feel welcome. Her laughter, kindness, and conversations filled every room she entered.
She also had a remarkable gift for capturing life's special moments, rarely attending a family gathering, holiday, birthday, or celebration without a camera in hand. Because of her love of photography, she leaves behind thousands of treasured photographs that will forever remind her family and friends of the love and joy they shared together.
Above all else, Pamela's greatest joy was her family. She was immensely proud of her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, who meant the world to her. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with those she loved and especially enjoyed her cherished "sister time"—going out to eat, playing bingo, visits from her older brother John when he would come in from Kansas City, Missouri, or simply gathering together at family celebrations. Those moments were among her happiest.
Pamela was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Eddie; her precious granddaughter, Alana; her son-in-law, David Weaver; her mother, Frances Cartwright; and her father, John Cartwright.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Amy Weaver; her grandchildren, Brandon, Katelyn, and Karley; her treasured great-grandchild, Kingston; her siblings, Jackie (Ron) Rioux, John Cartwright, Gerry (Andy) Searcy, Melinda (Bill) Immel, Cathy, Lisa (Keith) Ringel, and Beth Kenyon. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews, Jason, Joey, Sherry, Wendy, Tony, Cathy Sue, Krissy, Robert, Jennifer, Michael, Jessica, and Chad, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews whom she adored. She will also be deeply missed by countless extended family members, lifelong friends, church family, and coworkers whose lives she touched.
Though her family grieves the loss of her physical presence, they find comfort in knowing she is now with her Lord and Savior. Pamela's legacy lives on through the love she gave so freely, the strength she demonstrated throughout her life, the faith she never wavered from, and the countless memories she preserved through her photographs. Every picture she took tells a story, and every story is a reminder of the extraordinary love she had for the people in her life.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Pamela's life at the Cremation Society of Michigan, 32401 Ford Road, Garden City, MI 48135, on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will be led by Bishop John Rice.
