Patricia "Pat" Gardner

Age 84 passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013. She was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, on August 9, 1928, to Russell and Helen "Baba" (Odor) Frye. She had one sister Alice (Frye) Winchell (Robert) and one brother John Frye (Janet). Pat spent most of her life in Lansing, graduating from Sexton High School and attended Michigan State College.

She was married to Ralph E. Gardner, Jr. on September 23, 1950, and he preceded her on June 18, 2010. She is survived by her two children, Priscilla Gardner, John (Mary) Gardner, and granddaughters, Helen and Dana. She is also survived by seven nieces and six nephews; two who grew up right across the street, Marianna Frye Gotschall (Mike) and John Frye (Arlene and their children Christopher, Alena, and Bradley). She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother, brother-in-law and sister-in-law/dear friend Janet (Baker) Frye.

Pat enjoyed playing volleyball in her younger days, loved watching and rooting for MSU's Men's basketball and football, challenging puzzles, gardening, and was an avid reader of novels and history. She was famous for making awesome batches of Nut's and Bolt's and a mean fruitcake.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or services. Arrangements by Cremation Society of Michigan. The family would like to thank the Eaton Community Palliative Care, Charlotte MI for their excellent care in her last days. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Community Palliative Care, in memory of Pat Gardner, 2675 South Cochran, Charlotte, MI 48813.
