PATRICIA E. HERNLUND

FERNDALE, AGE 88, Passed away June 9,2018

Loving daughter of the late Vernon Frederick Hernlund and Eileen Margarete Hernlund. Born in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota and went on to attend the University of Chicago where she received a MA in 1955 and a PHD in English Language and Literature in 1965. She was a Full Professor at Wayne State University for 40 years and was an expert on William Strahan, a London printer-publisher who produced major works during the 1738-1785 period. Prof. Hernlund published several articles on 18th-century printing and publishing practices and co-authored an edition of Strahans business records. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, genealogy, and participating in reading groups. Memorial tributes may be made to Wayne State University.
