Obituary of Patricia Ann Hickey


Patricia Ann (Hickey) King affectionately known as "Byrd" passed away on March 27, 2017 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI; following an unexpected illness. Patricia was born November 25th, 1958 in Albion, MI to Robert and Rose (deNicola) Hickey. She married Lewis King on July 28, 2007. She was a 1976 graduate of Albion High School. She earned a B.A. Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University and a Master's Degree from Western Michigan University. She began teaching at St. John's Catholic School and later Starr Commonwealth of Albion. Byrd was a member of St. John Church, Eagle and Moose in Albion. Patricia is survived by her Husband Lewis; Two (2) Brothers, Paul (Carol) Hickey and Thomas Hickey; a sister Rose Mary (Randy) Fisher all residing in Albion; Step-son Jeremiah King and step-daughter Jessica Herr; Twelve (12) step-grandchildren and five (5) step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Patricia offered herself to the Gift of Life Foundation. Cremation has taken place. A gathering will be held at Cascarelli's of Albion on Sunday, April 2nd from 12-3:00pm to celebrate her life A Rosary Service shall be held at 10:30 A.M. On Monday April 3rd, followed by an 11:00 Mass at St. John's Catholic Church 1020 Irwin Ave. in Albion. Father Joe Gray officiating. There shall be no graveside service.
