Robert Lynn Westover, age 79, of Garden City, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026 with family by his side. He was born on July 18, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan.
A proud Vietnam veteran, Robert honorably served his country with the 101st Airborne Division. During his military service he was awarded a Purple Heart and many other honorary medals, a testament to his courage, sacrifice, and dedication. He was also a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
Following his military service, Robert built a successful career as a Tool & Die manager at Special Products, where he dedicated nearly 40 years of hard work and leadership.
He lived life with enthusiasm and enjoyed many hobbies, including boating, fishing, camping, paintball, target shooting, watching all sports, painting and shopping on Amazon. He was also an animal lover.
Robert is preceded in death by his Mother Shirley Linne Westover (Weaver), Father Robert Joseph Westover and Granddaughter Felicia Moore.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Ann, and his daughters Sherry (Joe) Monforton, Stacy Moore (Westover), Grandson Zachary Moore, Granddaughters, Leslie, Michelle (deceased) and Samantha, 8 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson, His very best friend Hugh (Toby) Woodrow that was more of a brother to him, His son Clifford Westover and daughter Denise Westover and their families, along with other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Those who knew him will remember him as caring, proud, loyal, opinionated, a true fighter, and someone with a sharp sarcastic sense of humor. He never hesitated to speak his mind, stood by those he loved, and faced life’s challenges with determination and strength.
His legacy of service, resilience, humor, and love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
There will be no funeral. Robert will be laid to rest in the Great Lakes National cemetery and given the full Military honors he deserves.
