Ronald L. Cole

Ronald (Ron) Louis Cole, 88, passed away peacefully in Commerce Township, Michigan, on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. A longtime resident of Farmington Hills for over 50 years, Ron also lived in Ann Arbor for two years and most recently resided at Rolling Hills Retirement Community in Commerce Township.

Ron was predeceased by his beloved wife, Carolyn, and is survived by his loving family: his son Jeffery and wife Karen; his daughter Cathy Kansman and husband Kevin; his cherished sister Beverly Jean Smith; his treasured grandchildren—Michael James Cole, Morgan Elizabeth Cole (spouse), Matthew Louis Cole, Thomas Jeffery Cole, Hallee Cole Frandsen, John Thomas Frandsen (spouse), and Kyle Jeffery Kansman—and his adored great-grandchildren Mary Elizabeth Cole, Margaret Grace Cole, and Michael James Jr. Cole.

A devoted husband and nurturing father, Ron was known for his charm, intelligence, and knack for spinning stories—often to share a meaningful lesson. He was a successful businessman and owner of the Public Heating Company in Redford and Farmington Hills, Michigan, for over 45 years.

Ron had a deep passion for his lifelong friends at Twin Beach Golf Club and found joy in his new friendships at Rolling Hills. An accomplished athlete, he excelled in basketball and football at Bentley High School in Livonia and went on to play football at Iowa State University. His love for the game of golf was second only to his love for Carolyn—his wife of over 63 years—their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and his unwavering faith.

A celebration Mass will be held in Ron's honor on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2150 Frieze Ave., Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
