Ruth Ann Kukulski

Ruth Ann (Oravec) Kukulski, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, at the age of 87. She is survived by her five children: Stephen Kukulski (Kirstin), Kathryn Dankovich, Philip Kukulski, Maureen Tomes (Charles), and Timothy Kukulski (Laura); seven grandchildren: Emily, Nicholas, Heather, Elizabeth, Annelise, Jack, and Luke; and five great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Claire, Hailey, Morgan, and Brennan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Walter, and sister, Grace Shearer.

She graduated from Cass Tech and the University of Detroit. She enjoyed playing Scrabble, Pinochle, and Duplicate Bridge. Ruth was a master-level tournament player. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially the annual camping trips to Ludington State Park. She often sent her grandchildren handwritten notes with a comic strip and stamps from Aunt Grace’s collection enclosed. Ruth was an active member of St. Rene’s Catholic Church, where she taught catechism, performed wedding rehearsals, and served at funeral luncheons. She was a volunteer election certifier for the city. She also enjoyed water aerobics at the Warren Community Center. She cared for many family members and friends, with regular visits or providing transportation. Ruth was compassionate to those in need. She was a humble and giving person.

Ruth will be buried at Fort Custer National Cemetery alongside her husband. A memorial service will be held for immediate family.
