Sally J. Green

With Heavy Hearts, we announce the passing of Sally Jean Green of Westland Michigan, whose life will be deeply missed, on May 3, 2026 at the young age of 76. She was predeceased by: her parents Steven Janicki and Stephanie Kolarich Janicki.

She was loved and cherished by those she left behind including: her heart broken fiance James Ciupek, her loving son Mickey Green (Lisa),her beautiful grandchildren Vincent and Lucia, her sister Shirley Polley (Robert), her brother Thomas Janicki (Joyce), her many nephews, nieces and their children.

Sally was born on March 5, 1950 in Detroit Michigan and unexpectedly passed away on May 3, 2026. Known to many as "Adventurous Sally", when on many occasions with her cycling and hiking friends, she would inadvertently change the route or plans, to explore bike trails, paths or roads less traveled. Because of her desire for adventure and with her endless energy, her list of athletic activities included: cycling of all forms including racing, hiking, snowboarding, snow and water skiing, swimming, and kayaking, just to name a few. She was an avid flower and vegetable gardener, loved visiting museums, lover of nature and animals, always tried to fix things herself, loved attending all of her family gatherings and was an excellent cook, most notably when she created her famous family lasagna dinners which were savored by all.

She was the person that brightened up the room when she entered, she was tender, loving and affectionate, honest and sincere. She was easy to talk to and always had a kind word to say to everyone.

Of all of her lifetime accomplishments, Sally was most proud of being the mother to her son Mickey and grandmother to his two beautiful children. She always looked forward to spending many hours with them reading books, playing games or just chatting about their day at school.

Her Love, energy, quick wit and beautiful smile will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Sally Jean.

A visitation will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia, on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 10:00 AM until her Memorial Service at 11:30 AM.
