Shirley Ann Saia

Shirley Ann Saia (nee Sablain), age 92 passed away peacefully on January 13,2026 in Canton, Michigan.

Born on February 16, 1933, in Grosse Point, Michigan, Shirley enjoyed nature walks which gave her joy and serenity.

Shirley shared a long and devoted marriage with her husband, Ralph Saia. Together they built a life rooted in love and family. She was a proud mother to three children: Denise Hyde (Wayne Washington), Brion Saia (Debbie-late wife), and Steven Saia (Stephanie). She also had many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.

In addition to her connection with nature, Shirley had a passion for square dancing. The rhythm and camaraderie of the dance floor brought her great happiness and allowed her to form lasting friendships. As a passionate reader as well, Shirley often found comfort and inspiration within the pages of a good book.

Her presence will be deeply missed by her family. May her memory bring comfort to all who were touched by her life.
