Obituary of Stella R Zawacki

Stella R. Zawacki, age 95, November 29, 2014. Stella was born September 2, 1919, in Springfield, Illinois to John and Antonia (Bucala) Kona. She moved to Detroit at a young age.

She married Gene Zawacki in 1942. Gene started Rite-Mark in a small cinder block building on the family farm on Middlebelt Rd. From that location, he moved his company first to Ferndale, then finally to Madison Heights. Stella worked for him in the office until the mid 1980's. Rite-Mark was sold in the late 1980's. In her later years, Stella split her time between Michigan and Florida, driving down with her sister until a few years ago.

She is survived by her friends Doreen Hillier and Gene DeAgostino, 2 nieces and 3 nephews. Stella was preceded in death by her husband Gene; and siblings Theodore and Helen. A memorial service is being planned for January of 2015.
