Sulette Brown (née Strader), age 85, passed away on November 6, 2025, in Westland, Michigan. Born on September 23, 1940, in Illinois, she lived a full and vibrant life marked by intellectual curiosity, a love for the arts, and a warm sense of humor that endeared her to those around her.
Sulette pursued higher education with dedication and distinction. She earned her bachelor's degree from Albion College and went on to complete a master's degree in counseling reflecting her lifelong commitment to learning and personal growth.
Her passions were as varied as they were heartfelt. Sulette had a deep appreciation for horses and found joy in their grace and companionship. She loved reading Abraham Lincoln books She was also an avid lover of jazz music and theatre—art forms that spoke to her spirited nature and creative soul.
Those who knew Sulette remember her as kind-hearted and genuinely funny, with a seemingly endless supply of stories that could light up any room. Her warmth and wit left lasting impressions on friends, family, and all who had the pleasure of spending time with her.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Stephen Kevitt and Eric Kevitt; and her sister, Luesta Hotton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Antoinette P. Strader and John W. Strader; as well as her brother, John L. Strader.
May Sulette’s memory bring comfort to those who knew her and continue to inspire kindness, laughter, and a love for life’s many beautiful expressions.
