Obituary of Thomas John Guilbault


Tom Guilbault, age 69, of Rochester Hills, Michigan passed away at home with his family by his side on October 20, 2017 after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Tom was born in Ontonagon on February 12, 1948. He was the middle child in a family of eleven children. His parents were Florence (Hanz) Guilbault and Edmund "Duffy" Guilbault. He graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1966 and attended Michigan Technological University. He then moved to the Detroit area working for AG Davis/AA Gage as a mechanical engineer for thirty nine years where he made precision instruments for industrial use. Tom had a very quiet soul but was always interested in talking cars…fast cars, especially Corvettes which he owned a number of over the years. Tom is survived by his wife, Carol Munro, and siblings Carol Blodgett of Kentwood, Michigan, Jim (Judith) Guilbault of Necedah, Wisconsin, Joan (John) Robinson of Davison, Michigan, Bonnie (Tom) Burgess of Ontonagon, Gerald Guilbault of Ontonagon, David (Sue) Guilbault of Ontonagon, Donald Guilbault of Ontonagon, Patti Malaj of Aurora, Colorado, Michael (Celia) Guilbault of Mountainburg, Arkansas, step-son, Mark Serrahn of Brighton, MI and Aunt Doris McDonald of Ontonagon as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Preceding him in death were his first wife, Eva Richards, his parents, and brother, Daniel Guilbault. Cremation has taken place and burial will be held at the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Ontonagon in the spring of 2018.
