Virgil Ciofu, of Hartland, age 85, June 27, 2012. Beloved husband of Angie, for 65 years. Loving father of Scott (Connie), Cindy (Paul) Barnowsky, Larry (Mary Ann), John, and Joseph. Proud grandfather of Sarah (Rich) Novack, Amanda and Jake Ciofu. Also survived by dear sisters, Dorthy Bacha, Helen Ballo and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Mike, John and George. He was drafted out of high school into the Army and served 2 years in Japan. He retired, after 30 years, from Toebe Construction Company. An avid Detroit sports fan, little league coach, cub scout leader, Hospice and Red Cross volunteer. A true famly man who always loved his family and friends, and who was always ready to lend a helping hand. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at 11:30am, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2099 N. Hacker Rd., Howell, followed by a Celebration of Life at "59 WEST", 786 W. Highland Rd., Highland, MI 48357. Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice Foundation (www.greatlakeshospicefoundation.org).
