Veronica Jane Padmos

June 12, 1939 — May 11, 2025

Trenton

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Veronica Jane Padmos, devoted matriarch and beloved friend, who passed away peacefully on Mother’s Day, May 11th, 2025 at the age of 85.

Born on June 12th, 1939 in Wyandotte, Michigan, Ronnie was a woman of strength, warmth, and unwavering love. A born activity planner, she nourished others her entire life, from helping to raise her siblings as a little girl through her retirement from the Detroit Area Agency on Aging. She raised her five children to appreciate life and be kind and forgiving. Ronnie’s home was filled with the smell of cooking, which she described as her hobby, her therapy, and her love. Vigorously embracing change, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Madonna University when she was 50 and started a new, 22-year-long career. She also deeply enjoyed travel, movies, cards, Scrabble, bowling, her time living in West Virginia, and good conversation surrounded by family.

She is survived by her five children Lisa (Jim), Chip (Katherine), Monica (Vince), Paula (Jeff), and Marina (Jim), thirteen grandchildren (Chanel, Brandon (Jennifer), Joshua, Victor (Colette), Chris (Michelle), Charlotte (Sean), Nicholas (Mary), Veronica, Miranda, Gabby (Billy), Madelyn, Ella, and Joss) and thirteen great-grandchildren (CJ, Kye, Lila, Silas, Phoenix, Magnolia, Jaxon, Caleb, Ezra, Lennox, Quinlan, Vincent, and Kara), her dear siblings Larry (Phyllis), Dolores, Donna (Terry), Bernie (Ed), Vince (MaryEllen) and Chris (Diane), and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Emily, sister Patty, brother Chuck, and beloved grandson Caleb.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that tributes be sent to WDET, which she listened to every day, through this NPR Link.
