Virginia Leona Lester

Virginia “Babe” Leona Lester age 101, a vivacious, caring and deeply loving woman, passed away on June 2, 2026. Known for her open heart and welcoming spirit, Babe created a home where everyone felt accepted, comforted and cared for. She lived her life with no stress, choosing joy, simplicity and family as her guiding lights.

Babe was the mother of seven children: Vickie Hickerson, Deborah Lester, Candace Lester, Cynthia Trublowski (Daniel), Sandra Downey (Joseph), Robert Michael Lester and Gregory Lester. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Lester, her sons Robert Michael Lester, Gregory Lester and her son-in-law Joseph Downey.

Her legacy continues through 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren, each of whom she adored deeply. Babe’s family was her greatest joy, and she poured her love into every generation with patience, humor and a gentle strength that shaped the lives around her.

Babe lived more than a century with grace, resilience, and a heart full of love. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with those who went before her and that her spirit will continue to shine through the many lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Details for a celebration of life will be posted at a later date.
